Made in Bolga from elephant grass straw also known as Veta Vera. Each grass is split in two, then twisted for strength and durability. Using batik dye the grass is then steeped in boiling water to obtain its vibrancy. Each basket takes approximately 5 days to complete.
If re-shaping is needed, simply dip in cold water, let the basket rest for 5 minutes to become pliable , then bend and reshape as desired.
